Prep Work

1.     Get 'Door Buyout Report' from office

2.     Open shipment of buy-out doors and hold onto packing slip, “invoices” go to accounting in box

3.     Pull out contents, begin sort doors and drawer fronts by size

Drawer Fronts

1.     Sort: 

Take sorted drawer fronts and match dimensions to cabinet numbers on door buyout report

2.     Label: 

Write case number with pencil on back side of drawer, centered. Cover written number with piece of blue tape. Write number with sharpie on blue tape as well

3.     Wrap: 

Wrap drawer fronts in groups according to room location. Label each wrapped group with job name and location. 

Set aside.

Doors

1.     Set up machine – Blum Hinge Press

1.     Determine “drill style” from Door Buyout Report.

2.     Set fence to correct “Drill Style”.  Loosen knobs on left and right side, move fence back or forward to align mark with DP (inset) or MB (overlay).

3.     Check drilling depth with scrap piece of same thickness. Should be at least ½” deep and not drill through piece.

2.     Sort

1.     Further organize doors into size groups

2.     Match measurements with case number on Door Buyout Report

3.     Doors without hinge information (i.e. - finished ends), follow drawer front procedure.

3.     Drill

1.     Once door is matched, determine drill locations and swing

2.     Using left and right stops on Blum fence will automatically drill at 3”, If Drill location is different, measure and mark lightly with pencil on back side

3.     Set door against fence with back side facing up 

4.     drill by using either the left and right stops or by lining marked location up with center line on fence

4.     Label

1.     Write case number with sharpie in hinge hole

2.     Cover writing with tape not allowing tape outside of hinge hole

3.     Write number with sharpie on blue tape as well

5.     Wrap

1.     Wrap doors and finished ends in groups according to room location 

2.     Label on wrap with job name and site location

6.     Deliver

1.     Place drawer fronts and doors in storage location to await finishing.
